Welcome to Paper Kites Preschool

Our Story
Hi! I’m Miss Carole and I can’t wait to meet you soon! Before we meet, let me tell you a little about myself…My husband Rob and I have been married for over 29 years and we have six children: Taylor, Jack & Macy (twins), Alexis, and Ryan & Cate (twins)! We live in a beautiful country home tucked away in the city. Our property is over 2.5 acres and is a true “gem”.
We love watching the beautiful horses and their owners walk by from our front porch. When I am not teaching, my family and I enjoy movie nights, going for walks, and coffee dates. This is my 26th year working with young children! I absolutely love everything about my job. My favorite part of being a teacher is seeing the children eager each day to learn. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
- Our Mission
- Our Vision
- Our Philosophy

Prepare preschoolers to be more than ready for Kindergarten in their social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development.
Support school-age children during summer camp so they don’t lose their achievement gains made during the previous school year.
Exceed expectations by improving our program every year and continuing to meet all 10 of NAEYC’s 10 Standards for High Quality Preschool Programs.
Strengthen families by including them in fun family events as well as supporting them in their parenting and educational goals.
Improve Antelope Valley community by offering a convenient, affordable, premier option for Palmdale children’s first schooling experience.
Our Vision is a community where all children feel loved, respected and encouraged to develop to their fullest potential. Our program is planned to promote high quality, stimulating learning opportunities, which interest and motivate the children. Promote a life-long love of learning. Listen to, respect and value each child as an individual.
1- Relationships- Children and adults feel welcome when they visit our program. We help new children adjust to the program environment and make friends with other children. Teaching staff engage in warm, friendly conversations with the children and encourage and recognize children’s work and accomplishments. Children are encouraged to play and work together. Teachers help children resolve conflicts by identifying feelings, describing problems, and trying alternative solutions.
2- Curriculum The program implements a curriculum that is consistent with its goals for children and promotes learning and development in each of the following areas: social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive. Children are given opportunities to learn and develop through exploration and play, and teachers have opportunities to work with individual children and small groups on specific skills. Materials and equipment spark children’s interest and encourage them to experiment and learn. Activities are designed to help children get better at reasoning, solving problems, getting along with others, using language, and developing other skills.
3- Teaching- We carefully supervise all children. We provide time each day for indoor and outdoor activities. We organize time and space so that children have opportunities to work or play individually and in groups. Children’s recent work (for example, art and emergent writing) is displayed in the classroom to help children reflect on and extend their learning.
4-Assessment- The program supports children’s learning using a variety of assessment methods, such as observations, checklists, and rating scales. Assessment methods are appropriate for each child’s age and level of development and encompass all areas of development, including math, science, and other cognitive skills; language; social-emotional; and physical. We use assessment methods and information to design goals for individual children and monitor their progress, as well as to improve the program and its teaching strategies.
5- Health- All staff have training in pediatric first aid and CPR. All staff members meet all state licensing requirements. The program has policies regarding regular hand washing, use of hand sanitizer, daily temperature checks and routinely cleans and sanitizes all surfaces in the facility. There is a clear plan for responding to illness, including how to decide whether a child needs to go home and how families will be notified.
6. Staff- Work as a teaching team. Continued education in person, online or attending workshops. The more you know the more you grow.
7. Families- Staff will talk with families about their family structure and their views on childrearing and use that information to adapt the curriculum and teaching methods to the families served. The program uses a variety of strategies to communicate with families, Via phone call or text, email, new family orientations, and individual in person conversations.
8- Community relationships- We develop professional relationships with community agencies and organizations that further the program’s capacity to meet the needs and interests of children and families. In the past, we have invited local family farm animals to visit, graduation ceremonies in May, summer carnivals, fall festival in the fall and a FREE Christmas date night in December for all children.
9. Physical Environment- Our Preschool setup is designed so that staff can supervise all children by sight and sound. The program has necessary furnishings, such as child-size chairs and tables. A variety of materials and equipment appropriate for children’s ages, skills and abilities is available and kept clean, safe, and in good repair. Outdoor play areas have fences or natural barriers that prevent access to streets and other hazards. First-aid kits, fire extinguishers, fire alarms, and other safety equipment are installed and available.
10. Management-The program is licensed by the state of California- The program’s written policies and procedures are shared with families and address issues such as goals, policies on guidance and discipline, and health and safety procedures. Appropriate group sizes and ratios of teaching staff to children are maintained at all times.
What We Offer
If you want your child to make friends, be prepared for Kindergarten, and develop a love of learning that will last a lifetime, you’ve come to the right place. Our premier private preschool offers exceptional education to children ages 2-5. Summer camp ages 2-9.
We feature a small class size for maximum 1 on 1 learning. We believe young children need plenty of play time to explore their world, and to learn social skills! By providing a balance between structured and unstructured activities allows all children to explore, learn and grow. Children learn through play. As they play, they learn to solve problems, take turns, get along with others, and to develop fine and gross motor skills needed to learn and grow.
Our goal is to stimulate and challenge your preschooler with a place where they can feel safe and happy and to begin confidence and positive self-image.
